Twin Peaks - Our History

In 1998 Twin Peaks started with a handful of people meeting in a living room. Then, in 1999, this group decided to host an evangelism series with Doug Batchelor in the old Longmont High School at 9th and Main. Several people were baptized, and concerted efforts began to find a public location to meet in. The Eden Valley SDA Church sponsored the group as a Branch Sabbath School, and the name Twin Peaks SDA Fellowship was chosen.

There were over a dozen teenagers in this group, so intensive youth Bible studies were developed, and mountain church became a favorite activity in the summertime. Several teens were baptized in the lake at Glacier View Ranch. Other early church outreach programs included a series of musical concerts held at the Longmont Skyline High School, which featured prominent SDA musicians like Jennifer LaMountain, Kelly Mowrer, Sandy Wyman, Jaime Jorge, and Steve Darmody. Following these, an evangelistic series was conducted in 2003 by Tyler Long of Amazing Facts and 14 were baptized.

In 2004, our new Bible Worker, Jarod Thomas, joined with his wife. The Conference granted the fellowship Company status, and along with 3 other churches, Twin Peaks started renting space at the Louisville SDA Church building. In 2006, the fellowship was granted full Church status by the Conference, and in 2009, the Louisville Church building was turned over to the Twin Peaks congregation.

Since then, God has blessed us and we have grown in membership and by His grace we’re still growing. We believe this is because so many at Twin Peaks have a passionate commitment to follow Jesus and to share Him with others.

Here are just some of the things going on at Twin Peaks:

  • An active Pathfinder club.
  • At least one local evangelistic series each year.
  • Involvement in overseas mission and evangelistic work.
  • An active Community Services ministry that reaches out to meet community needs.
  • Training seminars to equip Christians in a variety of areas such as witnessing, giving Bible studies, developing a devotional life and improving interpersonal relationship skills.

It won't take long for you to discover that Twin Peaks is a church that is a great place to be. We look forward to seeing you soon!
