The scripture for today is 1 Corinthians 15:54

 

1 Corinthians 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

 

When Christ returns for His church, the dynamics of the human experience will completely change. Death, which has held sway over mankind, will be no more. That which has consumed man since the introduction of sin into the race will exist no more. Sin was the catalyst that opened the door of death. When Jesus returns, sin will have been judged and those who have been found righteous will be changed; they will be given the gift of immortality, and with the impartation of this wonderful gift, all of the consequences of sin will be gone forever. Death, on any level, will never again be the experience of God’s people.

 

God promised through the prophet Isaiah to remove the rebuke of death and pain from His people. “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it.” Isaiah 25:8 This prophecy will be fulfilled when Christ returns in glory. What a glorious day that will be as the saints of God receive celestial bodies that will never die. The wonderful realization on that day will be the unspeakable joy of knowing that this wonderful gift is made possible through our Lord and Savior. We did not earn this wonderful blessing; He offers it to us as a free gift. He has done it all and we will realize it much better then when the glory of His goodness to us is on full display and fills all the earth. He will have prepared us to live and reign with Him forever and what joy shall fill our souls!
