The scripture for today is 1 John 5:10

1 John 5:10 He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself: he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he believes not the witness that God gave of His Son. 

Coming to faith in Christ is not a mindless transaction. It is a decision based upon sound reason and facts that are supported by witnesses, God Himself being the principle witness. God gives His Word and testimony and validates His testimony through living miracles. He changes lives and works miracles of transformation that are not achievable though natural means. 

God has given witness that Christ came from heaven to rescue this world from sin and its penalty. He confirmed His witness through personal testimony from heaven and great signs and wonders. His testimony in the New Testament is a continuation and fulfillment of His testimony in the Old Testament. To deny Christ is to accuse God of bearing false witness for it is on the testimony of God Himself that the Savior is verified. Accepting Christ as the Savior of the world is receiving the witness of the Father. It is saying: I believe you God and I receive your gift of salvation through your Son Jesus Christ. Through opening our hearts to Him we live "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;." Titus 1:2 His promise and witness are true and His salvation is offered to all who will accept His free gift.
