The scripture for today is 2 Corinthians 4:6

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

At creation, God said, “Let there be light” and light came into being. Darkness was replaced by light by the creative power of the Word of God.

We are recreated, made new creatures, by the power of the same Word of God, and where we were once in darkness, light shines in our hearts. That light did not come from us, we had nothing to do with it, either at creation or at the new birth. It was created by God and given as a gift to mankind in both instances.

The “light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” shines through His people and the illumination of His presence dispels the darkness of sin. “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

Darkness and light cannot co-exist for when the light appears, darkness disappears. No one who has the light of Christ can remain in darkness for it is not possible for the two to exist in the same place together; when the light is present, darkness is driven away. It is a simple, but true, principle, both naturally and spiritually.

The darkness of this world will be illuminated by the presence of the light of God shining through the body of Christ. May we have the courage to stand with the faithful, in the light, which is God, regardless of the cost.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
