The scripture for today is 2 Corinthians 9:10

2 Corinthians 9:10 Now He that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.

When God created the earth, He created living things that had the ability to reproduce. "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so." Genesis 1:11 The seed was provided at creation and man needed only to use what God had already provided. God provided the initial harvest and the seed was included in the harvest. And as man sows the seed that God has provided, God makes provision for him to sow again. God gives him the harvest to meet his needs and further blesses him by giving him seed, which is included in the harvest, to sow again. It is evident that God has increase on His mind. The things that He created have the ability to increase and multiply. 

The things that He has given us will also grow as we give what we have for God's purposes. The very life, His life manifested in His Word, that He gives to us is to be sown into the lives of others. As we sow the Word of truth, increase is the result. God has made provision (the seed) in His living Word for new life to spring from it as it is sown in the good soil of the heart. We reap a harvest when we sow natural seed; we also reap a harvest when we sow spiritual seed. The harvest meets the needs of those who minister, and also multiplies seed for further sowing. Increase comes as we are faithful to sow and reap, and then sow again from that which has been provided. "Give from your heart and you will live. Give all you have to give, and there will be more." Cy Holmes
