Ecclesiastes 7:9
The scripture for today is Ecclesiastes 7:9
Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty in your spirit to be angry: for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
Anger can creep into the emotions of anyone given the right circumstances. But, unlike the fool, the wise person will not allow anger to remain in their hearts. They choose not to nurse or rehearse the things that caused them hurt, suffering or loss. When anger comes the surrendered heart will direct those negative emotions to Christ, surrendering them to Him; and He will deal with us according to His love and grace. He knows much better than we do how to handle not only our anger, but the source of it. Satan has a strategy to derail each one of us and he often tries to excite our emotions, attempting to cause us to lean on our own understanding. We can overcome these strategies by maintaining a surrendered heart toward the Lord. Fleshly anger leads to nothing good. If it is harbored in the heart, it will turn into resentment, hatred and a desire for vengeance.
Anger finds a home in the hearts of fools. Love lives in the hearts of the wise, those who realize that God is their source. His love is abundantly supplied when the heart is ready to receive it. As children of God we are instructed by His Word to love with the God kind of love. "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Anger does not reside In the heart of the faithful child of God for it is the reservoir of God's love. There is no stronger force in the universe.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
