The scripture for today is Galatians 5:13

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

We have been called to liberty which is freedom. The good news of the gospel is that Christ has freed from sin, and from slavery to fear. Jesus Christ, whom the Old Testament clearly pointed to, has become for us the fulfillment of the righteous requirements of the law. All of God's requirements were completely fulfilled in Christ. When He comes into a life, He brings the righteousness that we are unable to attain through our own works. We become righteous because He is righteous. It is because of the faithfulness of Jesus that we receive the righteousness of God. He imparts everything that we need as our hearts are open to receive Him. We receive His faith, His love, His righteousness. Christ has done a complete work and we come to God through the completed work of Christ. We can add nothing to what He has done; He has done it all. He calls us into holiness because He is holy. He calls us into righteousness because He is righteous. He calls us into faithfulness because He is faithful. He calls us into love because He is love. He does not call us to be something that He is not. He calls us to be in Him; He is everything. When we are in Him, nothing is missing because in Him we are complete. We are set free; we are no longer in bondage, no longer under the penalty of the law. We have been saved by the grace of God.

Has the grace of God saved us to live lives that do not reflect His character? Certainly not! We have been saved so that His character can be clearly seen in our lives. We have not been saved to live lives that are dominated by the flesh, we have been saved to live Godly lives. We can live Godly lives because Christ lives in us. He loves us and, because of His presence in our lives, His love is manifested to others through us. Through His love, we served one another; we are His hands and His feet; we are His body; His life of love continues to be lived through us. Not because of what we have, but because of who He is. What a wonderful Savior!  What wonderful grace.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
