October 1
Happy Monday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Genesis 1:16

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.

The creation account in Genesis has for years been the object of scrutiny and attack as the limited understanding of man challenges the infinite wisdom of God. While the pursuit of knowledge is noble, the acknowledgment of the source of all knowledge and wisdom is critical. If God is not the source, all knowledge is tainted. God speaks to us through His word and by His Spirit which agrees with His word.  He also speaks to us through the things which He has made. With the word of God as our foundation, our pursuits are on solid ground. Without that foundation, our pursuits are subject to man-made theories and doubtful interpretations of natural facts.

God make two great lights, the sun and moon, to give light to the earth by day and night. Even in the natural, God ensures that the light shines. That light never goes out. The moon's reflection of the light of the sun reminds us that the sun is still shining and no matter how dark the night, we have the lesser light of the moon as a reminder that soon there will be a sunrise. Spiritually, God also ensures that His light shines. The light of Christ shines through the darkness of this present world and we, His people, are reflectors of that light. Through the reflection of the light of Christ in the lives of His people the world is reminded that He who was dead now lives and one day soon is coming again. That light offers hope to those who are lost in darkness and brings glory to God. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16

God bless you as you continue in His service.
