September 3
Happy Monday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Habakkuk 2:20

Habakkuk 2:20 But the LORD is in His holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before Him.

In the psalms King David shows the fact that the patriarchs of old recognized that God's true temple was in heaven. "The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: His eyes behold, His eyelids test the children of men." Psalms 11:4  And the prophet Micah said "Hear, all you people; hearken, O earth, and all that is in it: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the Lord from His holy temple." Micah 1:2 The sanctuary that existed on earth during the time of the prophets was a copy of the heavenly temple. God's temple on earth today is His church. "In whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto a holy temple in the Lord: In whom you also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit." Ephesians 2:21-22  God's temple in heaven and on earth exist by the design and power of God.

In the verse preceding our text for today the prophet says, "Woe unto him that says to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach!  Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in it." Habakkuk 2:19 Idolatry in the Old Testament was Satan inspired human effort; mankind worshiping the works of their own hands. It was demonic in origin and manifested itself in the denial of God and the elevation of human reasoning. Mankind still looks to the works of their own hands for inspiration and direction. While the living God is rejected, the gods of men are exalted. But God is not daunted by the frivolity of man's effort to create his own objects of worship. He continues to boldly proclaim the eternal truth through His servants for all to hear. He alone is God! He is in His holy temple and all creation is subject to Him. Apart from God, the words, thoughts and ideas of men are meaningless; "let all the earth keep silence before Him."

God bless you as you continue in His service.
