Isaiah 30_15
December 20
Happy Thursday Everyone,
The scripture for today is Isaiah 30:15
Isaiah 30:15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
God has offered salvation and rest throughout the ages, but mankind has largely rejected it. God, who loves us and knows that there is danger lurking on the path of self-will, provides us heavenly guidance and direction. He alone is the source of safety and true rest. Unlike Israel in the Old Testament, spiritual Israel, those who are the followers of Christ, must not reject the Lord on this wonderful offer. He is offering from His hand both salvation and strength. We find these things, not in ourselves or our works, but in Him alone. By turning to Him in complete surrender and resting in Him, we are saved. Jesus said, "Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28By being still and trusting we find His strength. "Be still, and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10
God makes this wonderful offer to His people: "Come to me and rest in peace, I will be your strength." This does not mean that we are not active; it means that our activities are in the Lord, not in our own understanding and strength. As we rest in Him, nothing that we confront will distract or overcome us because our lives are immersed in our Lord and His gift of strength.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
