The scripture for today is John 10:17

John 10:17 Therefore does my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

While the Father had many reasons to love the Son, His willingness to die on the cross for the salvation of the very sinners who had rejected Him was the act of obedience and humility which amplified His great love. God loved Him because Jesus voluntarily gave His life; no one could have taken it from Him.

The death of Christ was the price paid for our sins; the resurrection of Christ was the victory He won over sin and death on our behalf. All that Jesus did while here on earth was done for us. He lived the life that we should have lived, and died the death that we should have died, and then rose from the grave to give us the victory over sin and eternal death. His resurrection enables us to be born again.  We, in Christ, are raised up from the dead with Him, given new life, and through His Holy Spirit carry on the work of redemption through the proclamation of the gospel. Through His indwelling Spirit the mind that was in Christ can be in everyone who follows Christ.  "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not a thing to be grasped to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:5-11  And just as the Father loves the Son, He loves all who follow in His steps, steps of humility and obedience. We are His children "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together." Romans 8:17

God bless you as you continue in His service.
