Happy Thursday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Matthew 6:31-33

Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Our natural needs tend to consume too much of our thought life. We can be overwhelmed by thoughts of our own vulnerability to the ups and downs of a life connected to a worldly economy. Thoughts turn to concern and concern can turn to fear. Eventually we could find ourselves in the same condition as the rest of the world; trying to ensure that our needs are met through our own efforts alone. When we have been maneuvered into that position, the enemy takes great pleasure in wearing us out with unwarranted stress that comes from striving to achieve enough of the things we think we need. Our text for today provides the remedy for this malady.

Seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness must be the priority of our life. It is the only thing of eternal relevance and everything else in life naturally flows out of that single pursuit. God has provided, in Christ Jesus, everything we need, for now and all eternity. By developing intimacy with Him through His Word and prayerful communication, we clothe ourselves in His righteousness by faith. By daily seeking Him we are pursuing the very embodiment of the kingdom of God and His righteousness. All that we need is in Jesus. "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete in Him.." Colossians 2:9-10 When our priorities are right and the pursuit of our hearts is to know Him, nothing is lacking. He becomes our pursuit and we become His treasure. His love will always respond to hearts that seek Him above all else.

God bless you as you continue in His Service.
