October 25
Happy Thursday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Philippians 1:21

Philippians 1:21 For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

While most of us would like to have a long and prosperous life in the Lord, we rest in the knowledge that this world is not our home and the life that we live does not belong to us. Our home is in heaven and our life is Christ. Everything is from Him and all of our existence is in Him. However He chooses to use these lives of ours is His prerogative; our distinct joy is to be His.  For those who live such a life, death is nothing to be feared or in any way concerned about. It is simply the end of the assignment that God has given us on this earth. It is like graduation day, a time to rejoice in the faithfulness of a life of service to God.

When our lives are given completely to Christ, newness is present. Our motivations, desires and passions are directed heavenward. The thoughts of our minds and purposes of our hearts are to please the One who created and redeemed us. It is from this divine connection that the life of Christ flows through those who are His. All things both now and forever are given to Him so that whether in life or in death, God may be glorified.  "To know, to love, to follow Christ, is my life, my glory, my joy." John Wesley

God bless you as you continue in His service.
