The scripture for today is Philippians 2:14

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without complaining and disputing.

The reflection of Christ in the Christian life is the objective of the new birth. We are “born again” to live not after the flesh, but to “walk in the newness of life.” Romans 6:4 We live for Jesus here on earth, reflecting His character to the world, and we will live with Jesus in His heavenly kingdom throughout all eternity.  Jesus Christ is our perfect example in everything, and through Him our lives are lived in opposition to worldliness and the world's way of doing things.

The sentiment expressed in our text is similar to that which is expressed earlier in the chapter, “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” Philippians 2:3-5 Christ came in a spirit of humility and His followers are enjoined to follow the path that He walked.

Where there is strife, complaining and disputing, you can be assured that the spirit of the evil one is present. Unfortunately, those who are engaged in such behavior would rather hold to “their position” than humbly yield to the Spirit of Christ. In order for Christ to be manifested in our midst, His nature of humility must be embraced. If we are in humility following Him, we will esteem others better than ourselves and become servants.  Just as Jesus came to serve, He requires of us to do everything in a quiet and gentle manner, and avoid the very suggestion of strife. Our faith is in God; He is in control of our lives and our destiny.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
