Philippians 4:6
The scripture for today is Philippians 4:6
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God.
The singular advantage that we have as children of God is that God Almighty is our Father; we have been adopted into His royal family. We bring nothing but ourselves to Him, but God, plus nothing, is everything. God sees something of great value in us, and as a result, we are the recipients of His love. Because He loves us, He gives attention to our every word. He is always listening to hear from us. He already knows what is in our hearts, but He wants to hear us speak to Him about it. He loves our voices.
Assurance of His love for us eliminates anxiety; anxiety and faith cannot coexist. It is because we have faith in God that we have no need to fear. He invites us to come to Him, talk to Him, express our love for Him, pour out our hearts to Him, and let Him know what we desire of Him. He cherishes our prayers, and they are always with Him. Our prayers enter His heart; they are never discarded; they are with Him continuously. His heart is an eternal place. We are blessed beyond measure in His presence, and thanksgiving is the natural response of our hearts.
To know God is to have His peace. Jesus said, "My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 In the midst of the trials of this life, we can embrace His promises and in faith, "Be anxious for nothing."
