The scripture for today is Proverbs 20:24

Proverbs 20:24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

The complexity of creation is beyond our comprehension but we can, in faith, embrace the Creator who is the source of life and all that exists. While addressing the philosophers on Mars Hill in Athens, the apostle Paul told them: "For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also His offspring." Acts 17:28 The prophet Jeremiah said "O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps." Jeremiah 10:23 And the psalmist wrote "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delights in his way." Psalms 37:23 The righteous will readily conclude that the direction of life is not in themselves. They have come to realize that life itself is a gift from the Lord and He alone is in control of man's destiny. They will, therefore, continue to pray as David did, "Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths." Psalms 25:4 The hearts of those whose trust is in the Lord seek to understand the path of righteousness. "The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit." Proverbs 14:8 "What man is he that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way that he shall choose." Psalms 25:12

As we seek the heart of God, to know Him intimately, He provides the direction for our lives. We soon realize that our relationship with Him is not based on the experiences of others, but on our own. We come to realize that just as it is impossible for us to understand the intricacies of our own body with its complexities, we cannot know the path of life's direction apart from the wisdom of God. Therefore, our task becomes not one of ceaseless introspection, but one of seeking the wisdom and direction of Almighty God. In seeking Him, we will find the path of life. The wisdom and understanding that eludes us as mere mortals are imparted to us as children of God; those who love Him and who seek to know Him and to please Him.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
