The scripture for today is Proverbs 25:6

Proverbs 25:26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a muddied fountain, and a polluted spring.

Those who have come to the fountain of life, Jesus Christ, and have been filled with His Spirit, have the very waters of life flowing from them. Jesus said "but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:14 That water is life and power to a thirsty and longing soul.

The enemy of righteousness, Satan, does all that he can to block everyone from receiving from the fountain of life provided by Christ through His Word. The devil will intimidate, and strike fear into the hearts of people with deceptions, distortions, lies and threats. He will even stand in the face of the children of God and oppose all righteousness. Through every means at his disposal he tries to compel the righteous to bow down to his deceptions. Our text today describes those who fall down before the wicked as muddied and polluted water. "When the righteous yield to the wicked, the very fountains of virtue are corrupted." Family Bible Notes

As children of God we are to have the reverential fear of God and we should fear nothing else. "I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?" Isaiah 51:12 "The righteous man should be a spring of water welling up to eternal life; but when he fails to stand up for right and truth before unbelievers and opponents, he becomes a spring trampled by defiling feet until the water is muddied and spoiled. None will be attracted to drink from such a fountain, and they would find little refreshment from it if they were. With the promise of God's presence for support at all times, it is a disgrace for a believer to lower his colors through moral cowardice." SDA Bible Commentary vol. 3  "...for He has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5 Let us never leave or forsake Him.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
