Proverbs 29:26
The scripture for today is Proverbs 29:26
Proverbs 29:26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the LORD.
Whether a person is guilty or innocent may not be easily discernible in the eyes of man. Consequently, even the favor of those who are highly esteemed may not be enough to ensure fairness. Our destiny, however, is not in the hands of men; it is in the hands of God. “Rulers and magistrates do not decide man’s ultimate destiny. This judgment rests with the Lord.” The SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 3, p. 1048
God, who sees all things and knows the desires and intents of the heart, is the only One who can apply justice without error. He also is a God of lovingkindness and, as such, His justice is always laced with His love. Those who love God can be especially secure, for when the favor of man fails, the favor of God is always their portion. There is nothing more comforting than knowing that God, who loves us, dispenses His love and justice to us. May we stand before Him always, relying upon His grace.
