Happy Wednesday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Proverbs 2:6-7

Proverbs 2:6-7 For the LORD gives wisdom: out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a shield to them that walk uprightly.

Apart from God we will find no wisdom in the institutions of higher learning or in the councils of the mighty. The only source of true wisdom is the LORD! God is loving and giving; He will not withhold wisdom from those who seek it. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding come from the mouth of God; in other words, it can be found in His Word. Embracing the Word of God is embracing the wisdom of God. The understanding and application of His Word in our daily lives is the expression of the gift of wisdom that He gives.  

All that God has for us is found in Christ Jesus and through His indwelling Spirit we receive wisdom, the revelation of His Word. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom" Colossians 3:16 The rejection of the Word of God is the rejection of the wisdom of God; "The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the Word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?" Jeremiah 8:9 Clearly there is no wisdom apart from the Word of God. 

Through Christ, God provides wisdom (understanding and daily application of His Word and will) to all who ask in faith. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him." James 1:5  "He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous." Where is that sound wisdom laid up for us? It is laid up in His Word. His wisdom is imparted to us as we receive and put our trust in His Word. As we do so we will walk according to His will for our lives. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." James 4:8 That which we require, God will provide as we follow the path illuminated by His Word.
