Proverbs 9:9
The scripture for today is Proverbs 9:9
Proverbs 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
One of the hallmarks of the wise is their love of instruction. As the wise person learns more, the love for wisdom increases within them. Those who despise instruction and turn their backs on wise council will be left to the deceptions of their own foolish minds. Jesus said "For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even what he has." Matthew 13:12
Wisdom is found in Christ. "And of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption" 1 Corinthians 1:30 To increase in wisdom is to increase in the knowledge of Christ. The apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians, "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him." Ephesians 1:17 "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" Ephesians 4:13 Peter also instructed, "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18 For the child of God, wisdom is not about what you know but rather "Who" you know. Our instruction in wisdom comes from the Lord and the more we learn of Him, the more His wisdom is imparted to us. His wisdom is not to be confused with the wisdom of the world; it is wisdom that comes from above. It transcends worldly understanding and is initiated by the love of God. Everything else has little meaning by comparison. Paul concluded: "Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ." Philippians 3:8 May we strive as he did to win Christ and His wisdom.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
