Happy Friday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Psalms 113:1-3

Psalms 113:1-3 Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O you servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.

What we normally call praise is the joyful expressions and songs to God during our worship services. While this is good, it doesn't get at what verse 3 is talking about. "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised." That means all day, every day.  

At a deeper level of praise, we come to have such reverence for God's love, power and holy character, that our very lives praise Him from the time we wake up until the time we go to sleep. With our thoughts, our words and our actions, we praise the Lord! Whether in public or in private, we praise the Lord! Whether at church, at work or on vacation, we praise the Lord! Since the sun is always rising somewhere, praise to God should never cease. Everything that lives and breathes the breath of life should praise the Lord. Each day we choose to surrender our lives to the continuous offering of praise to God who created us and redeemed us. For all that He is and has done for us, returning praise to Him is the only reasonable response. He alone is worthy to receive it.
