Psalms 150:6
The scripture for today is Psalms 150:6
Psalms 150:6 Let every thing that has breath praise the LORD. Praise you the LORD.
It is fitting that the book of Psalms closes with this exhortation. It is the prerogative of all living things to praise the giver of life. At creation, God looked upon everything that He had made, "And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Genesis 1:31 The goodness of God's creation was not just in the fact that it was perfect and beautiful, but that everything was in harmony with the Creator. In the perfection of Eden, there was a response of praise for the life that God had given. Everything that was created gave glory to God.
The psalmist encourages us to return to that state of harmony with our Creator. Praise is the natural offering of those who recognize and receive God's presence. The only reasonable thing for creation to do in the presence of such life-giving power is to praise Him. Praise Him because He is not far off, but an ever-present God who inhabits His people. Praise Him now because it will be the privilege of His creation for all eternity. "And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever." Revelation 5:13
A life of praise is a life of faith. A life of faith is a life lived unto God. A life lived unto God is a life of victory. "Praise you the LORD" and live in victory.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
