The scripture for today is Psalms 25:2

Psalms 25:2 O my God, I trust in you: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

David was a mighty man of God but He was surrounded by enemies on every side and even from within. Regardless of the trials of his life, David knew that his only hope was to put his trust in God. We, likewise, must make the same decision each and every day of our lives. We, like David, are surrounded by enemies on every side and from within. Those who oppose the truth of God's Word present a myriad of presumptuous arguments that negate the authority of the Word of God. Many go so far as to proclaim that the Word of God is not relevant or even evil and must not be used to influence societal behavior. And those who cling to the truth of God's word are considered ignorant, narrow-minded, bigots, homophobes, and religious fanatics; all in an effort to justify sin and moral degradation. Sin is not exclusive to any group. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 The distinguishing characteristic of the children of God is not that they are without sin, but rather that they have received the atonement for their sin through faith in the sacrifice of Christ. Yes, we have sinned, but we are also forgiven and cleansed and we no longer pursue the sin that ensnared us. The faith of Jesus lives in our hearts and it is through faith in Him alone that we stand. It is "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5 "Faith is the cable which binds our boat to the shore, and by pulling at it we draw ourselves to the land; faith unites us to God and then draws us near to Him. As long as the anchor of faith holds there is no fear in the worst tempest; if that should fail us there would be no hope left. We must see to it that our faith is sound and strong, for otherwise, prayer cannot prevail with God. Woe to the warrior who throws away his shield; what defense can be found for him who finds no defense in his God?" Family Bible Notes

The battle that is being waged is between Christ and Satan; it is the "great controversy" between good and evil. We have the right to choose who we will stand with, and in whom we will put our faith. The one with whom we stand provides the power to fight the battle. Friends, Christ has already won! When we choose to stand with Him, we are choosing to stand on the side of victory. Our fight is the "good fight of faith." 1 Timothy 6:12 Our enemies cannot triumph over us as we stand in faith with Christ. He is our victory!

God bless you as you continue in His service.
