Psalms 28:7
The scripture for today is Psalms 28:7
Psalms 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song will I praise Him.
Here David confesses that the Lord is his strength. It is a confession of faith that brings God’s power into any situation or circumstance. Trust in the Lord is the best means of protection from the enemy. Although we may be weak, God gives us His strength. It is through our weakness that His power is manifested. We, who are weak, become strong through dependence upon God. Dependence upon God is the key to overcoming the obstacles that we encounter, and through dependence, we allow God to do that which we are incapable of doing. As we exercise our faith in Him, He provides what we need. “Faith must come before help, but help will never be long behind.” The Treasury of David
Trust in God produces praise to God. A heart filled with faith will be a heart filled with praise. A long face and a downtrodden spirit are usually evidence of defeat. Defeat is not what God promised His people. Victory is always the experience of those who put their trust in the Lord. It would be good to begin the celebration in anticipation of the victory which will surely come. We do not have to wait until the battle is over, we can offer our praise to God in the midst of the struggle. It is a sure sign that we have put our trust in Him. When our faith is in God, our voices are not silent; we will bless Him and give thanks to Him with all of our hearts.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
