Happy Tuesday Everyone,

October 23
The scripture for today is Psalm 37:7-8

Psalms 37:7-8 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Resting and waiting in the Lord demonstrates our trust in Him. Resting in the Lord is not a passive exercise; rather, it is the position from which the most powerful releases of faith occur. Resting in the Lord says to Him that I don't have to take matters into my own hands, I trust you for my deliverance. It says that I am confident in God's word and believe that He has my best interest in mind. It says that no matter what happens to me, I know that God has everything under control. It says that I am not internally focused, I am God focused. It says that all of the works of evil have no disturbing effect on my trust in God.

From our position of rest we affirm our dependence upon God. From our place of waiting, we are actively believing and demonstrating our faith. In that place we do not worry about tomorrow, nor are we concerned about those who seem to be prospering yet have no heart for righteousness. We let go of all fear, anger and hurt. Our hearts and minds are turned toward heaven as we find our repose in the Lord.

Many are building a facade of prosperity through human effort and wicked devices. But the one who is truly prosperous is resting in the Lord.

God bless you as you continue in His service.
