Revelation 21:23
The scripture for today is Revelation 21:23
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
When we reach our final destination, the home that Christ is preparing for us, the trials of this life and the perceived sufferings will seem like nothing compared to life lived in the eternal presence of the glory of God. God asks so little of us in exchange for so much.
In the heavenly city, which Christ is preparing for His people, the sun and moon will not be necessary. The light of the glory of God will be there continuously. "And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." Revelation 22:5 "The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended." Isaiah 60:19-20 The spiritual light, which we currently cling to by faith, will shine brightly for all to see throughout all eternity. Darkness will not exist in any form. For "God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1:5 That spiritual reality will become an everlasting experience for those who surrender their lives to the Savior.
It would be tragic to trade an eternity in the new creation for a few short years of selfish living on this earth. No matter what the cost or whatever we have to sacrifice "heaven will be cheap enough." Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 2, p72
God bless you as you continue in His service.
