Song of Solomon 8_7
September 7
Happy Friday Everyone,
The scripture for today is Song of Solomon 8:7
Song of Solomon 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would utterly be rejected.
The Bible is a beautiful love story. It is the story of God's love for man and the extreme that He is willing to go to secure man for all eternity. God is love and there can be no true experience of love on any level apart from Him. Love is not a feeling; it is a powerful spiritual force. No amount of earthly wealth is able to purchase it and nothing can overpower it for it is the most powerful force known to man. It is what the heart of every person longs for and desperately tries to find. In the absence of love substitutes are sought out, but nothing fulfills. When we open our hearts to receive the love of God we become complete; we find the fulfillment that we have been searching for all of our lives.
God created us with the ability to choose. His love is available to us; receiving it is our choice. Our first parents rejected Him in the Garden of Eden. The nation of Israel rejected Him and had His love nailed to a cross. And while the world continues to reject Him today, He still opens His arms to mankind and offers His unconditional love. He says to all humanity "Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 His love is offered to all, not just a select few. "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name" John 1:12 That power is the power of His love. It is ours if we will receive it and when we become one with Him, nothing can separate us from it.
God bless you as you continue in His service.
