December 11
Happy Tuesday Everyone,

The scripture for today is Zechariah 4:6

Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Zerubbabel, who is also listed in the genealogy of Christ in Matthew 1:12, was a leader of God's people who came back to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:1-2). A daunting task faced the returning exiles. The city was in ruins and the temple had been destroyed. In addition, there were dangers from enemies all around. Rebuilding the city and the temple while strengthening the people against their enemies was more than a group who had been captives all of their lives could dream of doing. But God had a word for Zerubbabel. It was not because of the strength of men that the work would be accomplished; it was because of the Spirit of the Lord working through them that this work would be done. "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me unto you." Zechariah 4:9

God has a word for His people today, and it is the same word that He had for Zerubbabel, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." As we are facing insurmountable obstacles with no natural strength to overcome them, we can be assured that God is more than able to do through us that which we cannot do alone. He will produce results in and through us that we, while participating in the work, will know with certainty that it is God who has accomplished it. But like Zerubbabel, we must have a heart that hears the word of God and surrenders to it. A heart surrendered to Him, will make this proclamation, "with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

God bless you as you continue in His service.
